Brief Strategic Therapy

Brief Strategic Therapy has been shown to produce rapid results and sustainable change with even difficult to treat problems. Developed in Italy by Professor Giorgio Nardone, the model has been shown to help people quickly overcome such problems as depression, eating disorders, anxiety, panic, phobia, obsessions and compulsions, relationship problems, oppositional-defiance, and disruptive behavior in children.

Similar to the martial art of Aikido, which instead of striking, harnesses the power of an opponent’s own strike to defeat them, Brief Strategic Therapy helps the client use a problem’s power to defeat it.  When these techniques are employed, positive results can occur in as few as one or two sessions, alleviating symptoms and debilitating conditions that have persisted despite years of medication and traditional therapy.

Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR)

EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to briefly focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms.
